Balance
There are many “rules” in photography and some are meant to be broken while others need to be considered. Balance is needed in photography at times depending on what the photographer wants the viewer to “see”. Balance doesn’t always have to mean proportional, it can also mean color balance, contrast balance, and focal points in the photo can be balanced.
In Balance, again, you can use other elements like lines and color to show balance. Also, depending on the image, you may have to adjust your shot to include an additional element to show balance. The eye of the photographer has to take into consideration balance with other elements to guide the viewers eye to what is to be “seen”. The image below all have different components that contribute to balance.
