Rhythm
Rhythm is an interesting as it can be created by combining other elements such as pattern, texture and color. What I find more interesting about rhythm is that many times you can’t really plan for it. As a photographer with a trained eye, it may come natural to see various aspects that pull together and give rhythm to an image with the use of the various other components and elements. Rhythm is also in the eye of the beholder too. I may look at an image and see rhythm, however my peer may see something totally different.
In order to understand rhythm in photography, you have to experience it and define it to then understand how to look for it. If I take a picture of trees in a forest, where all the trees are basically the same size and shape, the trees themselves create a patter and thus a potential rhythm. |
